Exciting News for Wannabe's

     Hi there, fashion lovers!  There's a LOT going on with us at Wannabe's Upscale Resale... we're getting basket upon basket of great fall and winter clothes for boys, girls and women...including trendy boots and coats.
     Tonight, we appeared on WHOI-19's Good Company and talked about how to layer.  This weather has been all over the place - including 20 degree temperature differences in one day!  Learn to Layer by following this link.
     Also on the show tonight, we announced a new contest.  We're expanding our social media platforms to bring you the latest news and trends in fashion, plus update you on what we have in the store!  To start, we've rolled out a Facebook Contest.  And it's as simple as asking your friends to "Like" our Facebook page.

     And here's our final thought for tonight's blog... lately, the weather in central Illinois has been RAINY and COLD.  And we know that kids can grow fast...and it can sometimes happen over night!  Our solution?  We're getting some great rain gear and even winter gear for those kids.
     This is just an example of a great combo for a little girl looking to be fashionable...and stay dry!  Both these items together?  Less than $15.  You'd be hard-pressed to find just a pair of boots or just a jacket at that price!

We have your Spring 2012 trends!

The runway shows at Fashion Week last Fall predicted many new trends for this Spring 2012 season, and we are proud to carry some of these trends just for you!

Layered mini-dress by Minuet

This is a perfect dress for a wedding, graduation, or any other formal event. It shows several major trends for this Spring season which includes pleating on every single layer, the many shades of blue, and exposed shoulders. One shoulder is also a very large trend. This is such a beautiful dress. It is a great Spring time dress that could be dressed up or dressed down. Its hemline is curved which shows off your shoes since it is a longer dress to begin with. There are several trends shown on this dress, which includes a doily lace pattern, and the fact that it's all white. This dress is absolutely beautiful and comfortable on.

Dressing for Your Body Type

Your body type is:

 The key to looking great is identifying and flattering your specific body type.

Triangle shape: Balance wide hips with narrow shoulders by wearing flowing (not clingy) tops and low-rise trousers.

Inverted triangle shape: Balance wide shoulders with narrow hips by wearing deep v-neck tops and bottoms that widen the hips.

Rectangle shape: Add curves by dressing the top and bottom proportionate and then add a belt for a defined waistline.

Hourglass shape: The most sought after body type!  Show off your curves with plunging necklines and soft clingy fabrics.  Stay away from fabrics that add bulk.
